Kettles full of Eggs for 5 Skins[.] Gave St Germain apiece of Net[.] The Indians are all gone – some for the Peace River and others for the Lac Claire[.]

Saturday 30th. St Germain brought us a Beaver[.] Gave it to the Gentlemen's women[.] Gave them also the half of the Eggs traded yesterday[.] Put an Equipment into the Shop for the Summer trade[.] The Credits that have given Out to the Montagners Since Mr Finlay's Departure were taken out of the Goods in the Large Store[.]

Sunday 31st[.] Mr Porter put by an Equipment for Lac Claire[.] Iehadé arrive and traded 3 Skins of Gibiers[.] At Dark La Viollette & Deballais arrived but found no Canoe[.]

Monday June 1st[.] This morning we perceived Some fresh Meat on a Chaffaut before Perronne's Tent – we cannot imagine who brought this Meat to the Potties[.] They brought it in the night[.] Cadien Deballais Gummed the Old Canoe which is to bring himself and Mr Porter to Lac Claire[.] The Little Birds Sons arrived & traded 5 Skins Beaver[.] Gave them 2 M Ammn each[.] They went off. St Germain gives us as much fish as we Can eat[.]

Tuesday 2nd[.] Early this morning Mr Porter and Cadien Deballais Set out for Lac Claire unperceived by the Potties who were there taking the advantage of a fine Morning to enjoy a sound nap[.] We have been informed that it was Monsieur Le Petit Rognon that Supplied the Potties with a little fresh Meat in the night of the 31st Ultimo[.] St Germain Catches as many fish as he pleases at the Pointe au Chien[.]

Wednesday 3rd[.] St Germain brought us fish[.] Laviollette began to make a small Canoe for fishing[.]

Thursday 4th[.] The Old Pine arrived and traded 5 Skins of fresh Meat and 2 of Gull Eggs[.] Gave him 2 Measures ammn & 2 Do rum gratis[.] Gave the Gentlemen's Women the value of 2 skins of fresh Meat[.] In the Evening the Roche qui reluie's Brother arrived from Grand Marrais[.] His Brother the Roche qui reluie returned with the English Chief to Grand Marrais after he had been on his way down here[.] Received a Letter from Mr Stuart which goes thus –

We are now here no less than three Days waiting the Crees who were a hunting & whom we sent for on Our arrival[.] They Came as soon as they had notice of Our being here[.] We Cloathed the Roche qui reluie according to Mr Finlays Orders and also his Brother Contrary to
