In this chansonnette, the douanière works alongside her husband. While he searches the men, she inspects the women, from the rich ladies to the cocottes, and even uncovers men disguised as women in order to smuggle goods. An indication at the bottom of the page reveals that a woman, Mme. A. Boutiot, engraved the lithographic plate for this song.

Dans cette chansonnette, la douanière travaille avec son mari douanier. Pendant que ce dernier fouille les hommes, elle examine les femmes, « grandes dames ou cocottes », et démasque même des hommes qui se sont déguisés en femme pour faire de la contrebande. Une note au bas de la page indique que c’est Mme A. Boutiot qui a gravé la plaque lithographique pour cette chanson.
