Letter from F. Cyril James to Alexander Ross, January 29, 1945.
A typewritten letter from Dr. Frank Cyril James, McGill University’s Principal and Vice Chancellor, to Alexander Ross, Deputy Minister of the Department of National Defence, regarding the per diem rates for the hospitalization of soldiers and professional fees. James writes of his willingness to recommend to the university's Board of Governors that it accept the suggested figures, but requests that rates be reviewed at the end of the year. He is concerned that the suggested rates do not include supplementary costs, such as heat, light, power, and telephone service, and that the university may be required to pay for such necessary additional costs. The letter is dated January 29, 1945.
