MFTP #0033 33 No. 9 Posteriors; this monster had a wife who lived at the foot of a very high precipice: he himself in the day time generally abiding upon the top, and when any human being happened to approach him, he suddenly attacked and rolled him down the precipice, and his wife generally gave the finishing blow to his existence; after which he was served up to these monsters as food. The old man discovering himself to the monster, the latter accosted him, adding that he had first discovered him and he must come to him – the other replied, that he lied, for that he had seen him long before upon the top of the precipice, barking like a Dog; however the old man not being intimidated, advanced, which the other observing, secreted a large stone (the usual weapon of his barbarity) between his body and Shirt, but not having his belt girt, the stone dropped to his feet just as the old man came to close quarters, which the latter observing, furiously attacked the monster and tumbled him down the precipice, the wife according to custom, without examining further [33] L E G E N D : |
