and other Indians who came with him made a present of 4 Buff Robes for which he gave them two Gallons[.] Bonneau came from River La Coquille with a Sac Ball & 4 Dozⁿ La knives[.] Next day two men came from Mountain a la Bosse where old Houle is master since poor John's Death for Liquor[,] Ammunition & Tobacco &c[.]

Thursday 26^th[.] Le Grand Diable went away after making me a tender of his wife's favors & seemed surprised & chagrined at my refusal – But the lady much more so & I thought it prudent to make her some trifling presents to pacify her[.] La Binne &c return'd from Tabaults with Six Stout pacquetons of wolves[.] The very same peltries his gendre boasted of having killd so near the Missouri which it seems he gave his Beaupere[.]

Friday 27^th[.] Sent away four Assinib^s who remain'd loitering about the Fort after the departure of the band[.] S^t James & Jolette drew out their quota of pieces for building[.]

Saturday 28^th[.] The Indian Guide who brought home the Men from Tabaults returnd to his Lodge[.] LaBrie & Bellair drew out their pieces for building[.]

Sunday 29^th[.] Le vieu Boiteu came to trade & put his all in a present Say 8 Buff. Robes[.] Gave him ½ a keg[.] Main Blessé made a present of ten Skins & five Buff. Robes, gave him 7 Gall^s for which he was much dissatisfied and Said he would have had a large keg had he gone to the Mountain a la Bosse for the same present[.] A young man with them made a present of 4 Buff. Robes & one Dressed Skin for which I returned him 2 Gall^s[.] Lagaur & Bedard went back to Mountⁿ La Bosse[.] I sent Jolette and S^t Pierre with them for the last news this year till the embarquement[.]

Monday 30^th[.] Boiteu, Main Blessé &c went away[.] Petit Jean came from M^r Grant's[.]

Tuesday 31^st[.] Three young men came for Tobacco who brought 2 wolves, 1 Otter & 1 Buff. Robe[.] They returnd immediately[.] The water began to rise over the Ice[.]
