Letter from Wilder Penfield to Edward Archibald, September 16, 1927.
Date:
1927-09-16
Description:
This is a typewritten letter from Wilder Penfield to Edward Archibald. In the letter Dr. Penfield inquires about the outcome of the committee meetings regarding his potential appointment at McGill University and the Royal Victoria Hospital. He states that the prospect of a position in Montreal seems tempting as he feels increasingly uncomfortable about remaining in New York and being relocated to and reassigned at the New York Neurological Institute, which would take over neurological surgery and research from the New York Presbyterian Hospital in 1928. He expresses an interest in visiting Montreal with his wife, but notes that if such a visit did not happen in the next few weeks, Mrs. Penfield, who is pregnant, would not be able to come. The letter is dated September 16, 1927.
