Description:
A black and white photograph of a woman, presumably Mrs. Alice Chester, holding hands with a little girl identified in the image’s caption as 17 month-old “Marian.” They appear to be walking down a sidewalk. The child is Marion Merrill Chester, the daughter of William Merrill Chester and Alice (Miller) Chester. Bill Chester had been Dr. Wilder Penfield’s friend and roommate at Princeton University. Marian, who was born in 1919, was the Chesters’ first child. This is the first photograph on page 98 of the 1919 - 1927 photo album compiled by Wilder Penfield.
