Letter from Harold L. Fetherstonhaugh to Wilder Penfield, April 11, 1945.
A typewritten letter from Harold Lea Fetherstonhaugh to Wilder Penfield regarding the proposed roof structure for patients at the Montreal Neurological Institute. Mr. Fetherstonhaugh, one of the architects designing the institute’s new Military Annex, reports that the structure was brought up at a meeting in Ottawa, but that ultimately he was not authorized to build on the roof. He says he could write to Lt. Col. Rooney and raise the subject again, but notes that he is not optimistic that the Department of National Defence would change its position given that the federal department was focused upon minimizing the cost of constructing the Annex.
