A typewritten letter from McGill University’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Frank Cyril James, to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Principal James recounts a conversation he had with the federal Minister of Pensions and National Health, Ian Mackenzie, regarding a proposed expansion of the Montreal Neurological Institute. James thinks that a comprehensive statements should be submitted to the federal government demonstrating the institute’s present overcrowding problems and explaining how, because of that situation, it cannot take on any more cases from the Armed Services. He requests that Dr. Penfield draft memorandums addressing these issues. The letter is dated January 19, 1943.
