This is a typewritten letter from Wilder Penfield to E.B. Convery, Medical Director of the federal Department of Pensions and National Health. In the letter, Dr. Penfield states that the Royal Victoria Hospital and the adjacent Montreal Neurological Institute are filled, and unable to accommodate all of the patients from the military services which require treatment. Dr. Penfield suggests that the Department of Pensions and National Health fund the construction of a temporary building adjacent to the MNI that would accommodate thirty additional beds. This letter is dated May 23, 1942.
