appear as an impediment for the animal to penetrate; in this road they leave small openings here and there upon each side, into which they set their snares, with a piece of wood about five or six feet long, tied to the end of the snare, in order to entangle the animal in the thick woods in case of being taken. The Beaver Traps are constructed on the Lodge, where the Beaver appears to be most employed.

This Establishment abounds with small Lakes, some of which are very rich
