John Dunn Hunter (1798?-1827) was an American adventurer and anthropological writer who wrote a famous account of his time living among Native American groups west of the Mississippi.
Print appeared as the frontispiece to the publication: "Memoirs of a Captivity Among the Indians of North America", by John Dunn Hunter, 3rd edition (London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Ohme, Brown, & Green, 1824).
