P.J.G. Cabanis (1757-1808) was a French physician, physiologist and philosopher. He is noted for his work "Rapports du physique et du moral de l’homme" (1802), which explained reality, including the psychic, mental, and moral aspects of man, in terms of a mechanistic Materialism.
