This is a typewritten letter dated 28 June 1928 from Edward Archibald to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Archibald informs Penfield that the preparation of his laboratory space at the Royal Victoria Hospital is going well. He also confirms that, in addition to the five thousand dollars which had been allocated by the hospital’s Board of Governors for the purchase of laboratory equipment, a further five hundred had recently been donated by the mother of Dr. Reford. Archibald recommends that Penfield use the additional money to purchase a Zeiss microscope. Finally, in addition to claiming that he is please that Penfield is studying with Foerster and Leriche, Archibald informs Penfield that there are a number of neurosurgical cases which are being reserved for his arrival at the hospital in the fall.
