Letter from Wilder Penfield to Charles F. Martin, February 5, 1931.
This is a typewritten letter from Dr. Wilder Penfield to Dr. Charles F. Martin, Dean of McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine. In the letter, Dr. Penfield explains that he has heard from Charles P. Howland of the Rockefeller Foundation. Mr. Howland stated that Alan Gregg had returned to the United States to take over as head of the foundation’s Division of Medical Education, and would like to discuss Dr. Penfield’s proposal for establishing a neurological institute that would be affiliated with both the Royal Victoria Hospital and McGill University. While no date was set for such a meeting, Mr. Howland encouraged Dr. Penfield to contact the foundation if he had not heard anything by the beginning of May, 1931. The letter is dated February 5, 1931.
