Description:
This is a typewritten letter from Sir Henry Dale of the Wellcome Trust to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Sir Henry clarifies that the funding for the proposed exchange program between the Montreal Neurological Institute and British neurological institutions would be earmarked for research rather than education. He also states that the trust will re-consider Dr. Penfield’s application to establish the exchange on January 18 [presumably 1960], though he warns of the high volume of applications to the Wellcome Trust. The letter is dated December 4, 1959.
