Stone carving and inscription, photograph.
This is a black and white photograph of the dedication stones of both the original Montreal Neurological Institute building, the Rockefeller Pavilion, and the newer Penfield Pavilion. Both stones are found on the University Avenue external wall of the institute. The original building dedication stone shows a sunset or sunrise in the at the top of the stone. Underneath the rays of the sun are two brains, the spines of which form the side borders of the stone inscription. In the middle is the inscription "Dedicated to Relief of Sickness and Pain and the Study of Neurology.” Below this carved stone is a newer concrete base with the inscription, “Inauguration, Pavilion Wilder Penfield Pavilion, 6-V-76.”
