This is a black and white inverted negative image of two children standing in a field next to a house or barn which is under construction. The children are Wilder Penfield Jr. and Ruth Mary Penfield. Ruth Mary appears to be pointing ahead of them, while Wilder Jr. appears to be looking down into the view finder of a box camera which he is holding. The image was likely taken during the Penfields’ 1928 European trip, during which they principally visited Breslau, Germany (modern Wrocław, Poland).
