This is an inverted black and white negative image of a group of five people with bicycles. The boy on the left of the image wearing a striped sailor’s top has not been identified. The small girl beside him is Ruth Mary Penfield, and the young boy at the right side of the image is Wilder Penfield Jr. The woman in the image is Helen Kermott Penfield and the man may be Otfrid Foerster. The image was likely taken during the Penfields’ 1928 European trip, during which they principally visited Breslau, Germany (modern Wrocław, Poland).
