This is a black and white postcard showing a photograph of a gargoyle from Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The image has been altered to have the gargoyle resemble the German First World War General Alexander von Kluck. In description accompanying the photograph, the general is described as "one of the rascals, leader of the band who ordered the ravaging of the North of France and who, out of spite, pitilessly bombed Soissons.”
