This is a black and white postcard showing a photograph of a gargoyle from Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The image has been altered to have the gargoyle resemble General Von Moltke (Helmuth von Moltke), the Chief of the German General Staff at the beginning of the First World War. In the description, Moltke is called an "ignoble criminal" for his actions against the Belgians.
