Telegram from Wilder Penfield to Helen Kermott Penfield, March 26, 1916.
This is a typewritten telegram from Wilder Penfield to “Helen Cromtt” (presumably Helen Kermott Penfield). The telegram indicates that while Wilder ad been aboard the S.S. Sussex when it was attacked by a German U-boat, he was safe and alive. The telegram was sent in response to a newspaper article which had stated that had not survived the attack. The telegram was sent on March 26, 1916.
