Letter from Charles Martin to Wilder Penfield, January, 17 1928.

This is a typewritten letter from Charles F. Martin, Dean of McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Martin confirms to Dr. Penfield that he will be given a formal offer, or call, from McGill University to become the a Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery, as well as the Surgeon to the Royal Victoria Hospital in charge of Neurological Surgery. He also explains that following these offers the Montreal General Hospital will inform Dr. Penfield what position and access to cases it will offer him. Martin also stresses that he is delighted that Penfield will be joining the Faculty of Medicine. The rest of the letter concerns administrative details, specifically budgets and space allocations. This letter was written on January 17, 1928.
