Mrs. Merrill, Mrs. Chester and Marian Merrill Chester, photograph.
A black and white photograph of baby of a baby identified as Marian [i.e. Marion] being held by her grandmother or great grandmother, a Mrs. Merrill. The child is Marion Chester. Her mother, Mrs. Alice (Miller) Chester is shown in the bed beside Marion and her grandmother. The baby’s father, Mr. William Merrill Chester, had been Dr. Wilder Penfield’s friend and roommate at Princeton University. Later, one of the the Chesters’ two sons, William Jr., would marry Priscilla Penfield, Dr. Penfield’s youngest daughter. This is the second photograph on page 97 of the 1919 - 1927 photo album compiled by Wilder Penfield.
