The 1914 - 1915 Memorial Cross, photograph.
The 1914 - 1915 Memorial Cross, photograph.
A black and white photograph of the main road through the village of Wytham, Oxfordshire. The roadway is bordered by walls, as well as thatched and slate roof buildings. There are two people in the distance and one animal, perhaps a sheep. In the distance the road can be seen turning to the left. Almost in the centre of the photograph, a white or grey stone First World War memorial cross, identified in the caption as a “1914-1915 Memorial Cross,” can be seen at the bend of the road. This is the fifth photograph on page 31 of the 1919 - 1927 photo album compiled by Wilder Penfield.
