A black and white photograph of Harold M. Carleton. He is named as Rio Hortega in the caption because he was nicknamed as such by Wilder Penfield. He is shown in, what was likely, Charles Sherrington's physiology laboratory, where he and Penfield conducted research during 1919 and 1920. Carleton is shown holding a microscope. It is the first photograph from page 10 of the 1919-1927 album compiled by Wilder Penfield.
