Trenches near Seine, photograph.
Black and white photograph of a barren field. A short, dilapidated fence that appears to be made out of wood can be seen starting on the left side of the photograph and running through the barren landscape. There is river, believed to be the Seine, in the distance beyond the fence. The photo is believed to be of the trenches, or the no mans land in between. It is on the thirty-fifth page of Wilder Penfield's 1913-1916 album. The photograph is blurred from poor development or age.
