This is a typewritten letter from the Minister of Finance, Douglas Abbott, to Wilder Penfield. In the letter, Abbott writes that he has received Penfield's letter addressed to the Minister of National Defence concerning the handing over of the Montreal Neurological Institute’s Military Annex from the military to McGill University. Abbott informs Penfield that, following a federal Cabinet shuffle, he is no longer the Minister of National Defence, but that, should Penfield agree, he would forward material concerning the MNI to the new Minister of National Defence, Brooke Claxton, who would be speaking at the handing over ceremony. The letter is dated December 4, 1946.
