Penfield writes that he feels it is time for the United States to join the war, and that he has written an editorial for S.G. & O. trying to express this sentiment. He reports he has not seen Lucie [possibly Stewart's wife?] as he has been away. Penfield reports news of his family, and of the activities of some Stewarts' associates.
