This is a handwritten and typewritten document from Harold Elliott to Wilder Penfield. On the front is a program of the London Summer Meeting from the Society of the British Neurological Surgeon. On the back, Elliot writes a letter to Penfield discussing various sessions from the meeting, as well as briefly discussing life at No. 1 Neurological Hospital. The program is from August 1 and 2, 1942.

Transcription of the handwritten note reads: "Dr. Cone - (?), Russel Thanks, Childe, Thanks, = return, Elliott, # Neurological Hospital. Dear Dr. Penfield. I thought you might like to see this anyway. I was reminded of you particularly because Sherrington and Aaron came in together. I was only able to attend to morning seas in because of duty here. Botterell presented to results of all of this is done here since Cone started the hospitals. 'Brigadier' Riddoch gave his usual talk and the conclusion was that SSUN spies should always have (?) early but not operated until spinal shock. Les (?) off. They are still (?) what farm of bladder care should be given in the field in the first 48 hrs. One dose not - as yet - have a definite understanding ats out - Catherington in (?) and one wonders whether the M. OS shoudl not be (?) on several definite steps to be taken in the care of (?) with spinal cord damage. (?) is good although one occasionally (?) a trifle lonely - no. I think (?) play regular golf or tennis to "make away blues". Sincerely Harold. She's being increasingly recognized (especially by the Germans) that is Cone and is (?) established to (?) type of an necessary equipment for a special hospital. GHE."
