Letter from "President" to Wilder Penfield, August 31, 1945.
Date:
1945-08-31
Description:
This is a typewritten letter from Lieutenant Colonel William Leggat, President of the Quebec Provincial Division of the Canadian Red Cross Society, to Dr. Wilder Penfield. In the letter, Leggat explains that the red Cross was setting aside $1400 to pay for the operating room lights, mentioned by Dr. Penfield in a letter of August 30, 1945 as being required for the Montreal Neurological Institute’s (MNI) new Military Annex. Leggat also writes that another $2300 had been dedicated by the Red Cross to pay for furnishings for several rooms in the new Annex. He also notes that arrangements for the ordering and delivery of such furnishings had already been made by Miss Eileen Flanagan, the MNI’s Nursing Supervisor, and Morgan’s department store. Leggat concludes by writing that he and the Red Cross are happy to be able to contribute to the work of the MNI. The letter is dated August 31, 1945.
