Description:
This is a typewritten letter from Dr. Charles Miller Fisher, Acting Registrar of the Montreal Neurological Institute, to Wilder Penfield. Dr. Fisher is responding to a letter written to him by Dr. Penfield on August 1, 1946 concerning certain financial matters. In particular, Dr. Fisher explains that he has sent a bill for operating room lights to the Canadian Red Cross, and that additional funds are still available to purchase photographic lights which meet the needs of Dr. William Cone. At the time of writing Dr. Cone was determining the most satisfactory light model for his needs. Dr. Fisher concludes the letter by stating the cost to furnish the Montreal Neurological Institute’s new Military Annex, that Morgans department store supplied the furnishings, and that the bill for the furnishings was sent to the Red Cross. He also writes that, according to Miss Eileen Flanagan, the Montreal Neurological Institute’s Nursing Supervisor, while the Red Cross did not directly grant funds to the institute, it did pay for a number of items acquired for the Military Annex, and that the matter of grants should not be raised with the organization again. The letter is dated August 16, 1946.
