A typewritten letter from Dr. Wilder Penfield to Lieutenant Colonel William Leggat, President of the Quebec Provincial Division of the Canadian Red Cross Society. In the letter Dr. Penfield thanks the [Canadian Red Cross Society] Board of Management for their contribution of $1,400.00 for operating room lights and $2,300.00 for room furnishings in the Montreal Neurological Institute Military Annex. As he explains, the contribution from the Red Cross will help pay for items needed for the functioning of the Military Annex but which will not be paid for by the military. Dr. Penfield concludes by reporting that the Military Annex is partially open and will soon be fully operational. The letter is dated September 5, 1945.
