Description:
This is a typewritten letter from Dr. Wilder Penfield to Colonel George Currie, Deputy Minister of National Defence. In the letter, Penfield states that he is forwarding a carbon copy of a letter that he had sent to General Ernest James Renaud concerning items which are required by the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) in order for the MNI to begin admitting increased numbers of military casualties. He states that a more extensive list of items will be forwarded by General Renaud. Dr. Penfield also states that tentative plans for the temporary addition to the MNI which will be built to house the additional service casualties will be forwarded to Colonel Currie once they are approved by the City of Montreal. He notes that, once the plans are approved, he would then like to discuss the military providing additional personnel and supervision to run the new addition. The letter is dated August 4, 1944.
