Keith, George. An Account of Mackenzie River (Letters to Roderick Mackenzie), 1807-1817. An electronic transcription. MFTP #0033 124 at Fort William and Elsewhere (for this Plunderer having unsheathed the sword appears to have thrown away the Scabbard) in the Interior as well as at Montreal. I would give you some account of the posture of affairs in this favourite part of the Country, but the disorganized state of some parts of the Interior little encourages a detail of this kind. Suffice it to say for the present, that our unprincipled and inveterate O.P's cause began to decline last Summer (during the preceeding winter including about 2 packs they collected in coming about English River &c their returns was scarcely 4 Packs) and I shall leave you to judge whether our admirable Leader, supported or seconded as he has been, has not done the business for them. In short I trust the prospects of their cause is at an End. [124] L E G E N D : |
