opportunity of singing, sucking &c. and performing his mystical gestures and incantations, mixing a gentle reprimand in song at the conclusion of each separate avowed offence against moral rectitude. Amongst other Instances I must mention one. An Indian during violent pain from a retention of the Urine, disclosed that he had cohabited with his own Daughter and his sister in law, and that he had not scrupled to appease his intemperate lust with women during their menses, with other circumstances which it is, I imagine, needless to mention. They are remarkably humble and submissive during this ceremony and ordeal. Excuse and pardon all this frivolity, and believe me, Dear Sir, with unfeigned wishes for your happiness & Prosperity,
