Keith, George. An Account of Mackenzie River (Letters to Roderick Mackenzie), 1807-1817. An electronic transcription. MFTP #0033 62 Mackenzie's River Dept. Bear Lake 19th Nov. 1812. Rod. Mackenzie Esq. Dear Sir, I shall not make any apology for the following cursory remarks or observations respecting this part of the Interior and its inhabitants. I am only Sorry that I cannot convey to you something of a more interesting nature from such a distant part of the Country, which, I have no doubt, would afford more interesting materials for the laudable object you have in view, were it under the eye of one who possessed more abilities to do justice to the subject. But without adverting further to any little trouble or impediment I may have experienced, I shall consider every thing infinitely overbalanced, provided you can hit upon anything worthy of your important and interesting Undertaking.
