Departments are still in arrears to this work. It is to be presumed that the generality of Young men in this Country have little ambition of appearing in print. I know it is no object on my part, and unless you think it necessary, my Name, for the small share I have had, might better be omitted altogether. Notwithstanding, this will not lessen my attention to any thing of this nature as often as opportunities occur. But I assure you I am under much anxiety for a correspondence to which I get attached more and more. The great and serious change of the Political World in your Hemisphere places us in a very disagreeable footing in this Country. We always entertain a hope that this unfortunate American War would evaporate; now that it is become serious, God only knows, how and
