Before commencing the narrative of his ultimate sufferings and calamitous fate, let us recapitulate the names and destinies of all who were so arbitrarily and shamelessly seized upon at the Grand Rapid. They were

John Duncan Campbell, Esquire, a N.W. Co partner; 

Pierre Joseph Paul, Guide 

Pierre Paul, engagé 

Pierre Boucher, [engagé] 

Louis Majeau, [engagé] 

he imprisoned several months at the Bay, and finally brought down to Canada in custody and there set at liberty. 

Angus Shaw 

John George MacTavish 

partners, 

imprisoned several months at the Bay, then sent to England, and there left at liberty[.] 

Edward Cain, servant, 

probably inveigled made to enter into the H.B. Company's service, from which he left the first opportunity[.] 

Thomas Ogoniarto, Iroquois steersman, 

brought out by way of Lake Superior[.] 

William MacIntosh, partner, 

escaped at the imminent peril of his life[.] 

Benjamin Frobisher, partner, 

retained in confinement at York Factory, with what ultimate intention can not be known.
