He observed a similarity in the Looks Disposition manner of Life and religious rites of the Indians to those of the Israelites who were swarthy – so are the Indians they were ungrateful so are the Indians they were rebellious and idolatious so are the Indians – they offered sacrifices to the Supreme Being so do the Indians they wandered about in Tents so do the Indians &c. &c.

Father La Brosse lived twenty five years as missionary in the Kings Posts and there are now twenty years since the good mans took his flight for the world of Spirits. He had some cherurgical skill which with the help of long fingers saved the Life at one time of his servant maid who had been making too free with the Blacksmith of Tadousac's Tools[.] He had also some Poetical talents & composed a song upon his favourite Dog which began thus
