Such as indolence, Robbery, and murder are the followers of an opposition in Trade[.] People would Suppose it would rouse their attention to Industry having Goods at a lower Price, But far to the contrary drunkeness & Idleness & vice is preferred – and indeed they are naturally of a Beggarly disposition[.] Thus no good can be derived from the turbulent Struggles of opposition in this Country, it destroys Trade, creates vice, renders People Crafty – ruins good morals and almost totally abolishes every human Sentiment in either Christians or Indians Breasts[.]
