My Dear Sir

I have to thank you for your letter of the 15th and for mentioning me to your friend Dr Fraser, whose interest I shall immediately attend to; I am only Sorry that they did his instructions did not reach me sooner than yesterday[.] It is too late, by some days, to commence proceedings for the first day of next term, in consequence of which no judgments can be obtained (if the opposite party chuses to oppo put it off,) until next term. I shall however take the proper steps in the business without delay.

I write from the Council Chamber[.] The appropriation Bills for the unpaid arrears of 1822 and for the expences of 1823 passed a day or two ago in Council; with a sort of protest[.] The La Salle Bill has been amended today in such a way that
