Description:

Head and shoulders portrait of Bertrand in circle. He looks out at the viewer. Bertrand had been in charge of the 1809 Campaign in Germany. In charge of crossing the Danube, laid out a bridge in less than a month, which the troops crossed on 4-5 July.Bertrand was one of Napoleon's most faithful, and accompanied him on St Helena where he remained until Napoleon's death.
