James Inglis (1835-1904) was a photographer of Scottish origin who operated a studio on St. James Street in Montreal.
Dr. John B. Backus (Backhouse) was born in Ontario in 1845, son of John A. and Sarah M. (Bostwick) Backus. He received his medical degree from McGill University in 1870, and practiced medicine for one year in Canada. He then relocated to Braidwood, Ill., U.S.A., where he maintained a successful practice.
