Jean Astruc (1684-1766) was a French physician, scholar, and biblical critic. He served as professor of medicine at Montpellier, and later became chair of medicine at the Collège Royal, Paris. Topics of his writing include anatomy, venereal diseases, gynecology, and the textual analysis of scripture.
