Palomino de Castro y Velasco, Antonio, 1655-1726. An account of the lives and works of the most eminent Spanish painters, sculptors and architects, and where their several performances are to be seen / translated from the Musaeum pictorium of Palomino Velasco. -- London : Printed for Sam. Harding..., 1739.
First English edition, possibly translated by Uvedale Tomkins Price (1685-1764). The note at the end of the Preface is of some interest as it demonstrates some of the problems of translations (and their printing): "N.B. The Readers is desired to excuse the Spanish Names being put with gn instead of an n with a Stroke over the Top of it, which in the Spanish Tongue is pronounced like gn, as in the Names Nigno and Nugnez, &c. the Printer having no such Type." Bookplates of John Robson, MD. 1865.
