Dr. Allen (1854-1906) was a New York physician who specialized in the treatment of skin disease during his postgraduate medical studies in Paris and Vienna. A recognized authority in dermatology and a specialist in radiotherapy, he died en route to a European symposium on "the Present Status of Radiology in Diagnosis and Treatment" (Bos. Med. Surg. J. June 8, 1906).
