Letter from Edward Archibald to Wilder Penfield, October 25, 1927.
Date:
1927-10-25
Description:
This is a typewritten letter from Edward Archibald to Wilder Penfield. In the letter Dr. Archibald states that there is widespread support for Dr. Penfield's appointment at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and that he is almost guaranteed a co-appointment at the Montreal General Hospital. Dr. Archibald believes that, while based at the RVH, Dr. Penfield will draw most of his private practice’s neurological work from the MGH. However, in a hand-written note at the end of the letter, he stresses that his comments concerning the MGH are strictly confidential. Dr. Archibald also writes that he wishes to recruit [Dr. William Vernon] Cone to Montreal as well, and has raised a stipend of four thousand dollars per annum for that purpose. The letter is dated October 25, 1927.
