Construction of the Montreal Neurological Institute, photograph.
Description:
This is a black and white photograph of the Montreal Neurological Institute following the construction of the temporary wartime annex during the early 1940s. The annex is the low, flat-roofed wooden building which can be seen beside and behind the main stone institute building. There is an unpaved parking lot containing several cars next to the annex. This image was taken from near what was the interns’ residence at the Royal Victoria Hospital. The hospital’s power house and laundry, with its large smoke stack, can be seen in front of, and partially blocking the view of, the institute.
