Wilder Penfield and Other Boys, photograph.
Date:
between 1919 and 1927
Description:
A black and white photograph of Wilder Penfield and six other young men at Camp Riverdale, a camp for boys on Long Lake in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. The group appears to be standing beneath a metal structure with an interior staircase, possibly a fire tower or lookout tower. This may be the Fire Observation Station on Owls Head Mountain above Long Lake which was erected in 1919. Some of the young men in the photograph are wearing hats and/or numbered sweaters. This is the fifth photograph on page 62 of the 1919 - 1927 photo album compiled by Wilder Penfield.
